Are you selecting an accredited retirement community?

Wesley Willows Corporation was awarded accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The CARF is a national organization that evaluates rehabilitation and human services providers.  When the service or program you choose is CARF-accredited, it means your provider has passed an in-depth review of its services. It is your assurance that the provider meets rigorous CARF guidelines for service and quality -- a qualified endorsement that your provider conforms to nationally and internationally recognized service standards and is focused on delivering the most favorable results for you.

The mission of CARF is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through accreditation that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.

Choosing CARF-accredited programs and services gives you the assurance that:

  • The programs and services actively involve consumers in selecting, planning, and using services.
  • The organization's programs and services have met consumer-focused, state-of-the-art national standards of performance.
  • These standards were developed with the involvement and input of consumers.
  • The organization is focused on assisting each consumer in achieving his or her chosen goals and outcomes.

Wesley Willows has held the CCAC accreditation now known as the CARF accreditation since 1994. It is a five-year accreditation with 2004 being the third time the organization has received this “seal of approval.”

President and CEO, Bill Pratt observed, “During the recent accreditation process, the Commissioners noted their admiration for the efforts made by the staff, board and residents in preparing the self-assessment report.  They stated that our participation in the national accreditation program demonstrated a commitment to enhancing the aging services field and in providing high quality services to our residents.”

The United Methodist Association of Health and Welfare Ministries also granted the Educational Assessment Guidelines Leading towards Excellence (EAGLE) accreditation to Wesley Willows Corporation.  Among the strengths highlighted in the EAGLE peer review teams report were:  the involvement of the Board of Trustees, the involvement of residents planning and activities, and the financial strengths of the organization.

Wesley Willows is the only CARF and EAGLE accredited retirement community in the state of Illinois.
