Pastoral Care:

Wesley Willows is an active and vital faith-based community.  Pastoral care is available to all residents and their families.  We offer religious education programs for personal growth, individual counseling, counseling in times of crisis, and several worship opportunities each week.  Founded in the Christian conviction that we should care for one another, we have built a community where all faith traditions are honored.

The Johns Chapel is the center of worship life with three interfaith services celebrated each week.  Chapel Services are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. and on Sunday afternoon at 4:15 p.m.  Holy Communion is celebrated the first Tuesday of every month. There are also services several times weekly in each unit of our Willows Health Center and Hunt Personal Care Center.

Our full-time Chaplain, Rev. Brian Kenney, ministers to our residents with regular visits in our health care centers, our apartments, cottages, and at area hospitals.  Rev. Kenney is available to any resident at any time for confidential counseling and spiritual direction.  Other learning events include retreats, Bible study, movie discussion groups, and book studies.

Abiding Program

To respect and honor our residents in their total life journey, we have developed an Abiding Program.  This program provides a comforting presence and spiritual support to our residents who are in the process of dying.  Twenty men and women, made up of residents, staff, and community volunteers, have been trained to be present with residents who have no family at bedside, or to provide respite for family members or other caregivers in a time of need.  Our volunteers might pray, read Scripture, sing, or simply sit by the bedside holding a hand and sharing a word of comfort.
